Swimming Lessons

Want your child to learn how to swim? Have fun in the water? Gain confidence? Learn water safety skills? Improve stroke technique?

Then you’ve come to the right place!

Our aim is for all of our swimmers to enjoy learning the life-long skill of swimming, whilst also understanding safety in and around water.

Our lessons follow the Learn to Swim scheme devised by the Swimming Teachers Association (STA). All of our swimming teachers are STA/ASA qualified. More details are available on the STA website www.sta.co.uk

We are always developing our teaching skills and strive to deliver the highest quality of lessons.

We have a dedicated Swimming Lessons Coordinator. All lesson enquiries can be made directly to Ailsa at lessons@kbtpool.co.uk

WHAT DO WE OFFER?

We cater for ALL ages and abilities with Baby & Toddler, Children’s Group Lessons, Adult Group Lessons and Individual Lessons

Baby and Toddler sessions for age 3 months up to 3 years.

  • These are run by fully qualified baby and preschool teachers on a Thursday. The lessons are pay as you go and booking is advised – Please phone the pool (01557 331881) or ask at reception to book a place.

Children’s Group Lessons

  • These are run after school between 3.30pm and 6pm. The lessons are run in blocks of 12 to coincide with the school term dates. We have various different classes available depending on ability.
  • BABY OTTERS – Aimed at children from age 4, still in armbands or using aids.
  • BEGINNERS 1 – Children no longer needing armbands or aids who are confident at putting their face in the water – can also swim a couple of meters unaided.
  • BEGINNERS 2 – Children who can swim unaided confidently on their front and back.
  • INTERMEDIATE 1 – This class is taught in the middle section of the pool; swimmers must be confident in slightly deeper water. This class works on improving technique as well as water safety.
  • INTERMEDIATE 2 – This class is taught in the deepest section of the pool and works on further improving technique, stamina and water safety.
  • IMPROVERS – This class is taught using the full length of the pool. The teacher works on improving all aspects of stroke – starts, turns, finishes – building stamina.

PLEASE NOTE –

A swim test will be required for all children new to lessons so that your child is put into the most appropriate class for their ability.

There is a waiting list for swimming lessons; we are trying to work our way through it as quickly as we can.
