Interested in getting your child into swimming lessons here at the pool? Our group swimming lessons start from age 4.
We do have a small waiting list but please email Ailsa on the above email address to add your child now
From Thursday 18th July till 5th September between 10am and 11am there will be a session for young families.
They are drop-in sessions where one adult can come with one or two children under 8 years old.
There will be at least one teacher in the pool to assist as well as toys and floats, but it’s not a swimming lesson.
The cost of the session will be £7.00 for one adult and one child; £8.50 for one adult and two children. There will be no public swimming during the session and all participants must exit the water by 11.00am. If you wish to stay for ‘Fun Time’ you would need to pay for it too.
Booking is advisable due to the limited number of places at each session – please phone the pool on 01557 331881 to book each week.
We are running an STA Lifeguard course from 15th to 19th July.

We are running a STA Baby and Pre-School Instructor Course at the swimming pool in April.
Dates and times:
THEORY
Tuesday 9th April 6pm to 9pm via Zoom
PRACTICAL
Friday 19th April 9am to 5pm
Saturday 20th April 8am to 4pm
Sunday 21st April 8am to 4pm
The course costs £350 per person

We are delighted to announce that we have appointed Jennifer Russell as the new manager of Kirkcudbright Swimming Pool.
Jennifer is highly qualified for the job being a STA Swimming Tutor/Assessor and teacher as well as having many other talents. She has also run her own successful training business for the last ten years.
We are confident that Jennifer is the right person for the post and that she will move the development of the Pool forward with enthusiasm and skill and return it once again to a facility that we can all be proud of.
She will begin work on 5th December.
Kirkcudbright Swimming Pool is running an STA Certificate Course in Teaching Swimming and needs children and adults for the classes which will be run by learner teachers.
ALL Classes are FREE.
Children and adults must be able to swim 10m or more without aids.
Spaces are available in these classes-
Diving lesson at Merrick Pool, Newton Stewart
Wednesday 25th October from 6pm to 7pm
Swimming lessons at Kirkcudbright Pool
Thursday 26th October from 3.30 to 4.30pm
Thursday 26th October from 4.30 to 5.30pm
Friday 27th October from 3.30 to 4.30pm
Friday 27th October from 4.30 to 5.30pm
Saturday 28th October from 12.30 to 1.30pm
Saturday 28th October from 1.30 to 2.30pm

Lessons have started for the younger children and classes are now running for Baby Otters, Beginners 1 and Beginners 2.
We are planning to start Intermediate and Improver swimming classes for the older children in January. We will send emails to all parents once we have a start date and class timetable.

We are pleased to let you know that swimming lessons will restart the week beginning 25th September.
We will be running as many of the classes we can at the moment but can’t put them all on.
The majority of the younger swimming classes will be running for this block.
We hope to have ALL of the swimming class up and running as normal in January.
We’re aware that some children may now be more advanced than what they were a year ago, and Ailsa will try to accommodate these as best a possible but a lot of classes are fully booked and it may not be possible. Please be rest assured that we will always teach the children to the best of their abilities no matter which class they are in.
Most of you may have already received an email from Ailsa regarding lessons for your children.
If you haven’t yet, please be patient, she will get to you all in the next few days.
Please check your junk folders just in case any emails end up in there and have been missed.
If you did have your children booked with us and have decided not to carry on or don’t need the spaces here anymore, please also let us know so that we can free up spaces for anyone else.
Thank you for your patience over the last year regarding swimming lessons, the staff are looking forward to getting them going again and can’t wait to see the children in swimming.
